My Dream Job at Pasa

Happy Monday everyone. I hope you're off to a great start this week! 😊

Today I am here to talk about a position I'd like at PASA (the Providence After School Alliance.

When looking on the "Our Team" Page, one job really stuck out to me. I really liked the idea of the After Zone Site Coordinator.

Why I like this Positon?
I would love to be an After Zone site coordinator. I think I would enjoy working with the youth in the different middle schools across Providence. I would love to be able to support and provide assistance to front line counselors as well as youth in any way I can. I also would love to help plan site wide special activities, help students be the best person they can be, and help all thrive in a positive and supportive environment.

What are the strengths and challenges?
A strength of being a Site Coordinator is being able to put your listening, planning, and guiding skills to the test. Site Coordinators overview what is going on with front line counselors, youth, and other workers at the site. It is important to support counselors and voice their concerns or activities that they would like to see at the site (within financial and physical limits).

A challenge of being a Site Coordinator is having a lot on one's plate at once. A Site Coordinator may have several tasks to do at once. If the site coordinator is not able to keep on top of things or organized, this can effect one's work as well as everyone who works in the organization.

Question I have?
Are site coordinators able to plan activities for the whole site to do such as celebrations, special activities, and special guests?

  2. Thanks for this post Jackie. This position sounds like it could be a great fit for you. You have put a bunch of thought into the variety of skills and tasks this position requires. Who currently holds this position and what professional and educational experiences prepared them for this role?
p.s. the text color this week was a bit challenging to read--but font size was great
